Dorsal displacement of the soft palate (DDSP) is a performancelimiting condition of the upper respiratory tract and is a relatively common cause of upper respiratory noise during exercise During DDSP the caudal free margin of the soft palate moves dorsal to the epiglottis creating a functional obstruction within the airway.
